Terms of Service

By downloading or using Fonetikly, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. About Fonetikly

Fonetikly is an English pronunciation learning app designed for Spanish speakers. It provides phonetic spellings, audio pronunciation, and practice challenges to help users learn English pronunciation.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Fonetikly. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Accounts

You may use Fonetikly as a guest or create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised access to your account.

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Deletion is permanent and removes your saved words, folders, progress, pronunciation history, and any voice recordings we hold.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Fonetikly is free to download and use with a limited free tier. A Premium upgrade unlocks unlimited access and is offered as either an annual or monthly auto-renewing subscription. Purchases are billed through the store you downloaded the app from, either the Apple App Store or Google Play, and are subject to that store’s payment terms.

Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings or in your Google Play subscriptions.

Refund requests are handled by the store that processed your purchase. For Apple, use the Report a Problem service at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, use the refund process in the Play Store. Refund eligibility is determined by the store and may vary by country or region. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law.

5. Voice recordings and practice content

Some features record your voice so the app can give you pronunciation feedback. Recording only happens when you start it.

• Your recordings stay yours. You give us permission to process them only to produce your feedback and to run the features you are using
• We do not use your recordings to train our own models, and we do not sell them
• Raw audio is deleted on the schedule set out in our Privacy Policy
• Please do not record other people without their consent, and please do not record sensitive personal information

6. Pronunciation feedback is automated

Phonetic spellings, scores, and feedback are generated automatically, partly using AI services, and can be wrong. Fonetikly is a learning aid. It is not a substitute for a teacher, a speech pathologist, or any formal assessment, and you should not rely on it where accuracy matters, such as for employment or examination decisions.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Resell or redistribute the app or its content

8. Intellectual property

All content in Fonetikly, including phonetic data, audio, and design, is owned by or licensed to us. You may not reproduce or distribute any part of the app without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Fonetikly is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or available at all times.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Fonetikly.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
